Lighting and pumping stations in Nigeria

Data

Location:

Nigeria

Year built:

1993

Description

In the most populous country in Africa only 40% have electricity. The situation is especially dire in the countryside. Without electricity, agricultural workers can barely earn enough to survive.

To help them, public houses were converted into solar houses, solar lighting stations were installed, and PV pumping stations were set up to produce drinking water and water for the fields.
