Off the grid: The sun sets you free

An Off-GridOff-Grid systems (or stand-alone systems) are photovoltaic systems which are not connected to the grid. The current they produce is stored in batteries. They are ideal for particularly isolated regions or areas where it would be economically impractical to connect to the grid. system is reasonable in cases where conventional electricity provision is inefficient, unstable or impossible. Solar energyColloquial term for sunlight transformed into electricity. It is a completely renewable energy – our sun will shine for another five billion years. Germany fosters solar energy via its renewable energy law. is available everywhere, allowing you to ensure a self-sufficient supply. Your photovoltaicAbbrevatied.: PV. Technology that turns solar energy into electricity via solar cells. unit stores the energy it collects and then allocates it when needed. No matter when, no matter where.

Residential Systems

Even whole villages can use solar energy to supply themselves with electricity. A community unit can produce enough electricity for hospitals, hotels, schools or an entire town. A glowing example of progress at its best – for mankind and the environment.

What you’ll need:

1. Solar modules
The solar modules on your roof silently convert sunlight into emissions-free direct current.

2. Inverter
The direct current produced by the solar modules is then converted into alternating current for appliances with alternating current.

3. Battery
The direct current is stored in the battery until you need it.

4. Central control panel
The central control panel monitors and stabilizes the entire residential system’s electricity grid. An integrated charge controller monitors the charge status of your battery, and prevents it from overcharging and or depleting completely.

5. Supply meter
The supply meter measures the energy use of each individual building so that costs can be fairly distributed.
